Marlborough Town Council are encouraging people to ‘drop-in’ to Marlborough Town Hall today, January 25 from 12 to 4pm, to find out more about how to stay safe, warm and well this winter. Enjoy a hot drink and a slice of cake (kindly donated by Tesco and Marlborough cake kitchen) while you visit the stalls offering advice about cost of living support, help with bills and energy and information about Marlborough’s warm spaces. You can also find the information in a booklet here.

Present at the event are representatives from Devizes Foodbank, The Jubilee Centre, the Community Fridge, Love Marlborough Kids Meals, Scottish and Southern Electricity Network (who carry out all repairs and maintenance regardless of who you pay your electricity bill to), Marlborough Library, Healthwatch Wiltshire and Kennet and Avon Medical Partnership.
Clare Harris, Assistant Town Clerk, said, “We’re delighted to have so many groups represented here today, providing support and offering advice.”
There are several places in Marlborough who are participating in the Marlborough warm spaces scheme. All are free. They are as follows:
- Marlborough Library – whenever the library is open with hot drinks available between 2 and 4pm on Thermal Thursdays
- Warm Space Wednesdays at 10.30am, St Mary’s Church for a thought for the day followed by coffee and doughnuts
- Wednesday club at the Jubilee Centre, optional board games, tea and biscuits 10-4pm

- St Peter’s Church Mon- Sat 10.30 to 3.30
- Fitness and Friendship club run by Wilts Age UK on alternate Tuesday afternoons from 2.00 pm – 4.00 pm at Marlborough Scout hut
Cllr Kymee Cleasby who runs Love Marlborough Kids Meals told Marlborough.news, “Times are hard for many families and the situation is worse than at the peak of the pandemic. We are feeding 48 families per week (compared with 44 families at the peak of the pandemic) and the number is rising. Each family receives a hot meal on a Friday with a carrier bag full of goods and recipes. We have had to double the number of our volunteers who cook and deliver the meals.”
