
“A great afternoon (and evening)” was a comment from a visitor to The ParadeFest, slumped exhaustedly in a chair under the canopy in front of The Parade Cinema at the end of the Festival. ‘Phew….!” was the follow-up. Hard work? No, not really, probably other reasons….. Just a very relaxing time, with great music from the stage in The Parade where cars are normally parked and plenty of food, drink and great company all around.

Although not topping the bill Ann Liu Cannon headed the late afternoon session and, rather than a set of her own numbers she and her band played a set of covers but all delivered in her own style, showing that she can perform beautifully, anywhere and to any audience. Local, yes, but now becoming recognised and welcomed on a far wider stage than just the Marlborough area. She closed her set with a bit of help from some of the young in the audience. “Unprompted” and “unrehearsed” she exclaimed, but listening you’d never know.



Lots of food and drink, sure, but also a Dinosaur and and electric blue stiltwalker with butterfly wings. So lots for the kids. Very enjoyable afternoon, helped by the
