Kennet Vale Table Tennis Club, based in the Kennet Valley Hall (KVH) in Lockeridge is looking for new members. The KVH has long been established as a Table Tennis centre under the direction of Colin Watts (involved since the late 1970s) and (slightly) more recently Brian Rayment.
Richard Ramsden has now joined Brian to target growing the club to enable four teams to compete in the very active Devizes and District league. Currently the club fields three teams – one in Division 1 (for seasoned players of a high standard) and two in Division 2, for teams made up of everyone else including beginners who are still learning the game. So whatever your skill level you will be able to compete.
The club have recently invested in three new tables so can offer the latest and best equipment on which to practice and compete.
The Junior section runs every Tuesday from 5.45pm to 7.15pm with seniors taking over after once the Juniors have finished. Richard told marlborough.news: “We welcome anyone over about 9 years old to join and play.” adding: “We plan to run club nights for all throughout the year and Home league games are mostly on Tuesdays from 7.30pm in Lockeridge. We are open for anyone in Marlborough or surrounding area who wants to play friendly table tennis in an air conditioned village hall with plenty of parking and we’re keeping costs down to £1 per session for juniors, £2 per adult for club evenings and £3 adult match fee for league games”.
