Thames Water have announced a hosepipe ban as from 24 August. Or so we believe, although this could be the product of a ‘Cyber Hoax’.
This is the message on their website this morning (Weds 17 August) and the notice regarding the hosepipe ban came by text, so maybe that’s what the ‘hoax’ refers to? Difficult to find out as Thames Water aren’t answering any press enquiries or replying to messages left in Press Officers’ voicemail.
But it’s likely that the hosepipe ban is real and not part of the ‘Cyber Hoax’. It’s a week away and if it is a real announcement there will be confirmation of this over the next few days.
