It’s scary how quickly our family lives can change and our worlds gets turned upside down. For one Marlborough family their world changed completely barely three weeks ago. Five year old Noah hadn’t been too well for a while. Young children are always – or often ill. It’s normal. For Noah his headaches and vomiting which were worrying but thought to be manageable suddenly started to get worse. When he started to deteriorate he was whisked in to Great Western Hospital (GWH) where doctors decided to carry out a head scan. This showed why he wasn’t well – Noah had a large tumour located in his cerebellum.
Within just a few hours of receiving this devastating news Noah was urgently transferred to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford where specialists quickly prepared him for surgery, which thankfully appeared successful and surgeons were able to remove approximately 97% of the tumour. However, soon after the family faced another heartbreaking blow when test results confirmed that the tumour was cancerous.
For Noah, a sweet, kind, and adventurous little boy this diagnosis means that his journey is far from over. For the family the upheaval is monumental. Noah is now being transferred to Great Ormond Street Hospital, a specialist hospital in London, where he will spend several months undergoing radiotherapy treatment. While this is an essential step in fighting the cancer, it will be physically and emotionally challenging for such a young child, and his family
Once Noah completes his treatment in London, he will return to the John Radcliffe Hospital to begin a year-long course of chemotherapy. This will be another difficult stage in his battle, requiring incredible strength, courage, and determination from both Noah and his family.
Whilst dad, Daniel and mum Jade’s lives have completely changed, work has taken a ‘when possible’ status and all the focus is on helping Noah and doing everything possible to be with and help him along on his journey to recovery. This is taking a major financial toll, and aunt Scarlett has set up a ‘go fund me’ page where we can all do our bit to help Noah and his family live through this worst of times.

What should be a time filled with play, laughter, adventures, and making precious childhood memories has instead become a journey of hospital visits, treatments, and uncertainty. Noah faces a long and exhausting road ahead, one that no child should ever have to endure.
Three weeks ago the world for Daniel, Jade, Noah and Verity the world was normal. suddenly everything is very different. But despite everything, Noah continues to show remarkable bravery. His strength and resilience inspire everyone around him, and with the love and support of his family, friends, and community, he will continue fighting every step of the way…
We wish Noah and his family every success in this battle against the cancer, we can help…..
