On the edge of Savernake Forest, in a beautiful clearing at the top of the hill lies Marlborough Cricket Club’s home. An idyllic spot, perfect for a cricket pitch, backing on to Savernake Forest whilst enjoying stunning views over the Wessex Downs. Hence the Club’s nickname – ‘The Trees’.
Where better to learn, practice and enjoy cricket? And the Club is looking to welcome new members, especially junior members, boys and girls.
Marlborough Cricket Club is dedicated to promoting cricket and providing a welcoming, and inclusive environment for all. Whether experienced, or completely new to the game, the Club is the perfect place to have fun, hone skills, make lifelong friendships, and enjoy everything the game offers on and off the pitch.
Any cricket club is only as good as its members, volunteers, and players. Many of the current Marlborough first team started out as juniors and as the summer starts to arrive, the Club is seeking to grow its junior section. The skills, memories, and friendships you make will stay with you for ever.
As part of growing its juniors, the club is seeking to establish their first girls’ team and would be keen to hear from any girls who would like to give cricket a try. All abilities are welcome, and no experience is required.
They are offering free ‘taster’ sessions throughout the summer for any boys and girls interested to come and try cricket. All equipment is provided, and they offer both soft and hardball versions of the game.
‘All Stars’ (ages 5-8) and ‘Dynamos’ (8-11) takes place on Fridays at 6pm over 8 weeks.
Junior training for under 11’s’, 13’s and 15’s takes place on Mondays from 6 – 7:30pm. They are also looking to add an additional girls team training night, subject to levels of interest.

‘The Trees’ are welcoming new shoots. To find out more e-mail the Club at: marlboroughcc@gmail.com There is a pavilion, a bar (for mums, dads, older members) and there are regular social events. The ground can be found at SN8 3HN
