Sixteen students achieved 3 A grades or better, including Alex Fforde, Michael Hardy, Michael Loveday, Fiona Moore and Tom Rogerson who all achieved 2 A* grades.
Other notable achievements include Lucy Budd (A*AA), Seth O’Farrell (AAAA) and Frances Hamblin (41 points in the IB) who are set to study English, French and Biological Sciences respectively at Oxford.
Elliott Lauder’s AAA* came as a real but very welcome shock, now realising that all those months of no sunshine had finally paid off.
Alice More gained A*AA to secure her place in Birmingham to read English and Drama, whilst Ella Rees’s A*AAB ensured that she will start her History course at Warwick in a few weeks time. She ‘couldn’t stop crying’ with happiness once she opened the envelope and read the results.
Head Boy Adam Pratchett, who recently chaired the ‘Question Time’ debate at St John’s, achieved 3 A grades and will study for a Masters in International Relations at Nottingham, with the aim of either joining the Diplomatic Service or moving into Politics.
With a record high average points score per student, St John’s Principal, Dr Patrick Hazlewood, confirmed that he was delighted with the performances of many individual students and the 6th Form as a whole. “These are excellent results which are a well-deserved reward for the very hard work of both students and teachers.”
