Top local bands – George Wilding, Vooz and Kovva Me Badd wll be on the Town Hall stage on Saturday 2 May for a great evening of live music in aid of Marlborough’s young through the Marlborough Area Youth Forum.
Twice every week kids can have a hot meal in the afternoon at the Youth Centre at the Salisbury Road rec. The Youth forum organises and provides this, giving the kids a safe place where they can socialise, ‘be kids’ and enjoy a range of facilities and activities that are provided at no cost. The Youth Forum, led by Cllr and multi time former Mayor Lisa Farrell and a band of hard working volunteers and Trustees they cater for all 10+ year olds and each time there will be upwards of twenty five able to enjoy the Wednesday and Friday sessions.
Each one costs – the Youth Forum pays the Town Council rent, and the cost of the meals for all is now in the region of £100 each time, so funding is vitally important, and the Music Night will play a big role in creating those much-needed funds.
“We provide a place for kids to feel safe in and can be kids. We are there to listen and help them as much as we can. We charge for nothing so every child can come as we know some kids would not be able to afford to come.” said Lisa when asked what every session at the Youth Centre offered Marlborough’s kids.
Tickets are £15 each (or £20 for two) from Sound Knowledge
