Prospect Hospice was selected by the Marlborough NFU Mutual Agency team as recipients of a donation of more than £3,000 from a national ‘Agency Giving Fund’ set up by NFU Mutual’s Head Office.
Raising funds for Prospect at this time is extremely difficult as so many events have had to fall by the wayside and all shops have had to close due to lockdown, whilst the demand for their services has increased due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
In light of the national emergency this country is facing, NFU Mutual, the UK’s leading rural insurer allocated £1m to help local frontline charities at this difficult time.
To make sure that this support reached all corners of the UK, NFU Mutual asked its network of approximately 300 appointed Representative Agents and Mutual branches to nominate local charities to receive a share of this fund.
The Marlborough Agency team selected Prospect Hospice as recipients in this area and as Sam Edwards, Senior Customer Support Adviser explained: “I have seen first-hand the amazing work that Prospect Hospice do in the community and how important the service they offer is to families and patients. It was so nice to be able to get a donation to them during these hard times when all their fund-raising events are cancelled due to Covid-19”
Sheryl Crouch, for Prospect thanked Marlborough’s NFU Mutual team adding “This is wonderful. Thank you so much for your support. We’re still caring for local people and doing much more of this in their own homes at the moment. This will really help us reach those who need us at this time”.
