Wiltshire Council’s campus policy aims to rationalise its buildings and provide more centralised services. A campus can be made up of new buildings or greatly improved and developed existing buildings, to deliver services appropriate for coming generations.
The Vale Community Campus will be a split site campus housing a range of services including the current sports centre. It will connect with Pewsey Vale Academy School and share some of the school’s facilities such as its reception.
Work should begin this summer and it will be fully open by late autumn of 2016. The local neighbourhood policing team will be based in the campus.
The plans are the result of a lengthy consultation process. Pewsey’s Community Operations Board which was responsible for drawing up the plans, first met in July 2011.
Corsham’s campus is already open. Marlborough seems to have found a place at the back of the queue – its Community Operations Board began meeting a year ago.

The campus’ name reflects the aim of providing a campus to benefit the whole of the Pewsey community area. It remains to be seen how impressed surrounding villages will be by the campus.
