On a beautiful Sunday evening at Marlborough Golf Club a healthy crowd watched Lewy Hayward edge out Dominic Seaman in a 3-hole play-off for the Club Championships men’s title. Earlier in the day the ladies’ title was won by Karen Gosling.

Lewy and Dom both represent the Club in The Wiltshire League and promotion to the top division has already been secured. This was a perfect occasion at Marlborough Golf Club for members and visitors alike to enjoy the superb condition of the course on a great Summer’s day and and witness golf of the highest standard being played at the Club Championships.
Having elite players is a real positive for the Club and helps attract outstanding new talent. It also trickles down throughout the player base with the burgeoning Junior section being a perfect example, having also enjoyed a very good season in competition against other clubs. The boys finished a very creditable 4th in the county junior league on points difference and also narrowly lost the county junior knockout final to Cumberwell 2-1, with the final match decided on the 17th.
