Prospect Hospice has put out an all stations call for volunteers from across the Kennet Valley to support its charity shop in Hungerford’s High Street.
The shop, which is one of 18 run by the Hospice, has sold once-loved items of clothing and household items since it first opened in 2009, and its success depends on volunteers to support the manager.
A recent decline in the number of people who are able to bring their time and skills as volunteers has prompted the charity to ask local people to come forward.
Prospect Hospice’s Phillipa Huxtable, Voluntary Services Manager at Prospect Hospice, explained: “Volunteers are vital to the work of Prospect Hospice and that is as true in our shops as anywhere. We need new volunteers to make our Hungerford shop – and all our shops – as profitable as they can be, and we would be glad to fully train suitable people who have the time and relevant skills to support the shop in Hungerford.”
People who can offer their time to support Prospect Hospice should email info@prospect-hospice.net
