Hungerford Town Juniors Football Club (HTJFC) has been recognised for its outstanding contributions to grassroots football, securing the prestigious ‘Club of the Year’ award at the Berks & Bucks FA Grassroots Football Awards 2023. The awards ceremony, which celebrated grassroots volunteers from across the region, was held at Adams Park, the home of Wycombe Wanderers FC on 20th July.
The Grassroots Football Awards, hosted annually by the Berks & Bucks FA, recognise the exceptional individuals who dedicate their time and passion to football, making a positive impact on communities and creating opportunities for players of all ages. This year, HTJFC’s commitment to nurturing young talents, fostering a positive football environment, and connecting people in the region was acknowledged and celebrated.
“We are incredibly honored and humbled to be named ‘Club of the Year’ at the Berks & Bucks FA Grassroots Football Awards,” said Darren Pettifer, Chairman of HTJFC. “This recognition is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our volunteers, coaches, and players who have made our club a thriving hub for youth football development.”
Steph Clark, Football Communications Officer at Berks & Bucks FA, praised the achievements of HTJFC and all the award recipients, saying: “Events like the annual Grassroots Football Awards are always very special as they provide a wonderful opportunity for us to recognise, thank, and celebrate the extraordinary achievements of our dedicated volunteer workforce.”
HTJFC’s commitment to excellence and creating an inclusive environment for players has been further reinforced by their achievement of FA Accreditation Status. As an England Football Accredited club, HTJFC continues to uphold the highest standards, nurturing players, coaches, and volunteers, fostering greater diversity and inclusivity in the football community.
The accolade of ‘Club of the Year’ is a significant achievement for Hungerford Town Juniors FC, and it would not have been possible without the support of their local community and the exceptional efforts of their volunteers. The club looks forward to building on this success and continuing to provide a safe and nurturing space for young footballers to thrive.
