Preshute St George’s celebrated the annual Family Fête on Saturday 13 June in the grounds of the church. Lots to be seen and bought- plants, beautifully created wood pieces, books and much more. And of course food, tea, coffee and cool drinks – on a clear, bright and warm summer’s day in the grounds of Preshute’s St George’s Church.

Mayor Mark Luson did the opening honours, declaring the fête open, whilst also slicing a special ceremonial cake topped in the colours of St George with a bit of familial assistance from his son, and also aided by organiser Amanda Brown and Revd. Pete Sainsbury.

But it was the ducks that won…… set off to drift gently down the Kennet (with a bit of assistance), with the winner declared as the duck that reached the far side of the footbridge on the path up to The College. Did any escape? None were spotted further down the river by the ParadeFest, so hopefully all were rounded up after their exertions.
