The new season for the mini/junior section started on Sunday (2 September) and much excitement was felt around the Club. Not only were the younger members of the Club going to receive their new shirts provided by new Club Sponsor ‘Compeed’, but international Seven’s superstar Pio Tuwai was going to be there to hand over some of the shirts, but he was also going to go round the different age groups with fellow 1st XV players Jamie Pittams ( Captain) and Jake Williams.
The Club are keen to recognise and thank new Sponsor Vets 4 Pets for their support plus Chilvester who are Sponsoring the Club for a second year.
As well as training, there was also a bouncy castle for those who still had energy to spare and a BBQ. It was great to see so many familiar faces returning as well as the new ones.
The Club is delighted to welcome back to the fold, Stuart McVeigh and James Hughes, both of whom are re-joining the U13s after a 2 year break from coaching. The Under 7s and 8s have also recruited two new coaches – Richard Tully and Paul Struthers and the Club extends a very warm welcome to both.
