Paralympian swimmer Stephanie Milward and former Gloucester, England A and Barbarian rugby star Andy Deacon will officially open a new sensory garden at Greatwood on Saturday, during the charity’s open day.
The charity – which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year – bonds retired racehorses to children and young people with special needs from around the county.
The installation of the £10,000 sensory garden has been made possible thanks to fund raising by rugby charity Wiltshire Wooden Spoon.
Gareth John, chairman of Wiltshire Wooden Spoon said: “It is a wonderful outcome; the benefits for both the children and the horses is really wonderful and we were delighted to raise the money for this vital cause.”
The garden will be opened at 1pm. Entry to the open day – at Rainscombe Hill Farm, near Marlborough – costs £8, with Friends and children admitted free of charge.
