Travel By Hannah is the Agency Branch of the Year, awarded last week at this year’s Travel Weekly Agent Achievement Awards held at the Park Plaza in Westminster. A notable achievement for Marlborough’s Travel by Hannah as these awards are the largest celebration of the travel trade in the UK and the highest accolade for travel agencies and agents.
“A huge milestone for us” stated Hannah, which is probably a bit of an understatement. The awards are designed to honour those travel agencies and travel agents who truly represent the best of the travel industry, and recognise excellence in a range of categories and specialisms. Award winners are selected based on voting by travel industry suppliers including tour operators, airlines, cruise lines and tourist boards, with some categories decided by panels of expert judges. Travel Weekly is regarded as the ‘bible’ of the Travel Industry in the UK so this award must be viewed in that context.
It’s only just over five years since Hannah Porter opened the doors to Travel by Hannah in the height of the pandemic. And now named Travel Weekly’s inaugural Agency Branch of the Year 2026 – making Travel by Hannah the best travel agency branch in the UK and Ireland.
Hannah couldn’t do it alone, her team – Billy and Lily are there, more than just to help and it’s them all that makes this award special.
“More than anything though, this feels like a win for Marlborough and our High Street!” added Hannah, which reinforces the belief that personal service is valuable and ever more so in the current times when online digital is taking over. Travel and holidays are vital, they are what takes us all away from the daily routine and life. Booking a holiday online is easy, but talking with someone who knows, getting the advice of experience – and also alternatives and possible cost benefits as well – is something that even AI won’t be able to deliver. Holidays are special, and the personal service makes that true.
“We get to know our customers” Hannah explained as one of the reasons for their success. “We celebrate life’s big moments with them and we’re there when things don’t quite go to plan. That’s what we’ve built Travel By Hannah around, and it’s amazing to see that recognised nationally.
“For a little travel agency on Marlborough High Street to be recognised as the best in the country feels pretty incredible. Thank you to every single person who’s been part of the journey so far. This one really does belong to all of us.”
