Traffic chaos on the horizon – roadworks with 4-way traffic lights starting on Jan 25

The roadworks around the junction of London Road, Salisbury Road and George Lane, Marlborough, which were postponed in the run up to Christmas, are planned to run from Monday Jan 25 to Friday January 29.

The 4-way traffic lights are certain to cause long tail backs on every road entering Marlborough although it is to be hoped that some reduction in traffic due to lockdown will ease the situation. Working hours are from 8 am to 6pm. The traffic lights will be removed each night.

Thames Water are carrying out essential maintenance work on sewers that cross under the River Kennet at Marlborough Bridge. Residents in the area have been warned “there may be a slight odour and some noise.”
