The Funghi Club is coming to Marlborough. Laurent and Janie Lebeau are building on the success of their Hungerford shop by opening a new flagship shop and bistro in Hughenden Yard, Marlborough on Thursday 2nd November.

The Funghi Club started out in 2019 with a mushroom stall, then when the pandemic hit, it expanded into a weekly menu of French inspired restaurant standard food delivered to your door. The next step on the ladder, whilst still maintaining the weekly menu throughout, was the opening of the Hungerford shop. In August 2022, Le Petit Bisto opened within the shop and it has quickly become one of Hungerford’s dining hot spots.

The Funghi Club, Marlborough will have everything the Hungerford shop has including a range of delicious heat and eat dishes, seafood, charcuterie, fromages, foodie gifts, pâtisserie, fresh bread and champagnes and wines. It will boast a stylish large indoor and outdoor dining area, as well as an exclusive private dining room. The private dining room can cater for up to 39 guests and will be a wonderful space to host everything from special occasions to business meetings, as well as the ever-popular Laurent’s Cooking events and a range of new brand collaboration events.
The menus have been specially curated by Laurent, using his many years of experience and his in-depth knowledge and insight into what The Funghi Club customers ‘Fungharians’ enjoy. Specialties will include souffles, gratins, charcuterie, cheeses and patisserie. Laurent has a wealth of experience as a chef. After training and working at the prestigious Lycée Hotelier, Nice, he moved to London, to be Chef De Partie at Ma Cuisine, one of the few Michelin starred restaurants in London at the time. In the 90’s he was head hunted to become Executive Head Chef of Groupe Chez Gérard, where he had 85 restaurants and over 350 chefs under his remit and a purchasing responsibility in excess of 18m. Locally he worked at The Red House, Marsh Benham until 2020 and at the same time ran a private Chef an Consultancy business , which included private catering for high-profile clients such as former Prime Ministers, MP’s and celebrities
Laurent Lebeau commented: ‘Janie and I are very excited about the next stage in the development of The Funghi Club. We have made great strides since we started out with our mushroom stall. The space we have acquired in Marlborough is the perfect setting for The Funghi Club, it is spacious both inside and out and we can’t wait to welcome customers old and new. We are particularly excited about the ‘salon prive’, it is a versatile space that can be used for everything from hosting business meetings, watching sport with friends, to private dinners and cocktail and canapes parties. We are also looking forward to hosting TFC events as well as working in collaboration with other brands on events in the dining room. Janie and I would like to thank our investors and loyal customers, without them we wouldn’t be able to keep growing this business we love so much
