KAMP wish to thank everyone that attended the recent programme of vaccination clinics, held at St Mary’s school in Marlborough and at Bouverie Hall in Pewsey.
The number of vaccinations given was quite staggering. The KAMP team were giving vaccinations to four patients every minute for six hours (let you do the maths).
KAMP thank all of their staff and volunteers for giving up their time to make this important exercise run so smoothly. As well as the two clinics held, KAMP staff also visited the housebound and care home patients (who were unable to visit either of the clinics) to administer flue and covid vaccinations.
Overall, they delivered 3,271 flu vaccinations and a further 1,002 Covid vaccinations.
KAMP are keen to spread the word that there are more than just GPs delivering necessary healthcare services to the Marlborough and Pewsey communities.
There are an increasing number of specialists working with the KAMP GP team to provide a range of care. As an example, KAMP employs paramedics whose experience in the ambulance service make them invaluable in assessing and treating acutely unwell people of all ages. Both in the surgery and in home visits. Paramedic practitioners are highly qualified and can prescribe medications, refer patients and arrange tests and investigations. There are three such paramedic practitioners in the KAMP team, along with triage nurses and GPs and they all combine together as key members of the KAMP Medically Urgent team.
