Marlborough is truly in the grip of Coronation fever and local independent shops and businesses have all you need to make your Coronation party a right royal occasion. There are flags, bunting, balloons, crowns, capes, wigs, masks, hats, plates, napkins, mugs, t-towels, bags, t-shirts, edible cake toppers, cup-cases on offer and red, white and blue everywhere. It’s also good to see that Marlborough’s mystery knitter has provided a Coronation post-box topper outside the One Stop shop.

Even your dog can join in the celebrations with doggie Coronation toys (soldiers, crowns and union jack bones), doggy Coronation cookies and iced woofins available at Pets on London Road!

Jane Goldstein at Print Image in Wagon Yard has specially designed Marlborough Coronation T-towels, bone china mugs and tote bags for sale, with Coronation T-shirts arriving before the end of the week. Each item features the Coronation emblem with local Marlborough landmarks. There are separate designs for Hungerford.
At The Merchant’s House there are plenty of flags, bunting, Emma Bridgewater commemorative mugs and bone china mugs as well as party wear. Manager, Jessica Taylor, told Marlborough.news, “The royal family masks have been particularly popular. We have sold out of Charles but still have Kate, William and Camilla left!”

The Bay Tree gift shop in Hughenden Yard has face paints and Coronation tattoos as well as party wear, table cloths, party horns, ceramic mugs and balloon arches for sale. In Ducklings in Hilliers Yard there are plenty of flags, bunting, cool crown kits, union jack bowler hats, tinsel wigs and headbands. They also have helium balloons. Across the road Luisa’s Sugar craft and Cake Decorating Supplies has union jack cupcake cases, ribbon, cake stands and paper napkins.

Many of the local charity shops also have union jack and royal memorabilia for sale. In The Emporium of Loveliness in Hilliers Yard there are even some George VI mugs for sale. So don’t shop online – support our local businesses this Coronation weekend.
