St Peter’s will be the home of the Christmas Cabaret yet again on Friday 12 December. A great sell-out success last year and tickets are already disappearing quickly. This year the funds raised will go towards the Jubilee Centre, to help with a new kitchen and to St Peter’s itself for the roof appeal.
It’s very much a Manton production. MantonFest ‘Impressario’ Roger Grant is leading and putting it all together, Judith Sharpe will be arranging what’s sung, by whom, when and how – she will be the Musical Director as well as one of the lead performers and Nicky Evans will make sure that it all works, well.
Last year’s Cabaret raised well over £1,000 for the two charities and Roger is hoping that this amount could even be exceeded this year.
Judith and her performers will be giving their efforts and time free to make this a great evening that will deliver real benefit to the community. For those who enjoy the magnificent space that is St Peter’s and for those elderly members of our community who spend time in and rely on what Marlborough’s Jubilee Centre is able to bring them. St Peter’s needs major works to the roof, and Jubilee Centre is in real need of an upgraded kitchen which is so central to what they do and deliver.
“As we did last year the idea was not only to give Marlborough a concert with a difference for Christmas” said Roger, adding that “All the popular carols and Christmas songs will performed by Judith’s team who this year will be from local musical theatre companies and choirs from the local parishes.”
The show will start at 7:30pm – Friday 12 December – and tickets are £10. Available from The White Horse Bookshop and Elaine’s Travel (next door but one to Waitrose), but as noted above, they are going fast.
