St John’s Marlborough are celebrating achieving the School Games Gold Mark Award for the 2025/26 academic year. The school also achieved the award in the 2024/25 academic year.
The School Games Mark is a government-led award scheme launched in 2012 and facilitated by the Youth Sport Trust to reward schools for their commitment to developing competition across their school and into the community.
A spokesperson for the school said, “We are delighted to have been recognised for our success. Our commitment to delivering a wide range of inter-school competitions, house events, school clubs and participation in external School Games competitions has truly paid off.
A special mention goes to our young volunteers, leaders and officials, whose efforts have been instrumental in supporting competitions and hosting local primary school festivals. We are extremely proud of our pupils for their dedication to all aspects of school sport. They are truly fulfilling the school’s values of ambition, integrity and respect.
We look forward to continuing our commitment to school sport and applying for the award again in 2027!”
