These changes come with the news that Wiltshire Council has invested in newer, larger buses for this service.
The new timetable will start on Monday, August 8 – with the changes mainly affecting the afternoon services.
Volunteers from Pewsey and Devizes Community Area Partnerships have worked with staff at Wiltshire Council’s Passenger Transport Unit over many months to retain this vital bus service.
Dawn Wilson, Chair of Pewsey Community Area Partnership, says: “We realise that the changes may be frustrating, particularly for regular users, but the good news is that we have taken the opportunity to incorporate some of the passenger feedback we’ve received over the last few months.”
“We have all worked hard to improve this rural bus service and I believe we have done the best we can for local residents to enable them to travel to Pewsey or Devizes and further afield via connections with the rail network at Pewsey Station and with the X5, X72 and X49 services.”
There is a £1 single fare for rail travellers between Pewsey and Devizes which provides a real incentive to leave the car at home. The Day Rover Pass for the C2W stays at £6 and provides value for money to residents and visitors alike.
New printed timetables have been produced thanks to a grant from Community First’s Transport Fund.
They will be available from Thursday, July 28 from Devizes Museum, Wiltshire Council Office in Snuff Street, Devizes, Devizes and Pewsey Libraries, Pewsey Post Office, The Applecart Cafe in Pewsey and other local outlets.
