The £400,000 plus operation will take place between 6pm and midnight, Mondays to Thursdays and 7pm to midnight on Fridays. No road work will take place at weekends.
The work will include the creation of new cycle racks as initially proposed by Transition Marlborough and then extended at the suggestion of Marlborough Town Council.
And will involve the ducting for cables to introduced the future electrification of the High Street for events such as Christmas lights and Mop Fairs.
But funding for this has yet to be finalised.
“The resurfacing will obviously cause some disruption but people have been complaining about the state of the road for a long time, “Wiltshire Councillor Nick Fogg told Marlborough News Online.
“The result will be a huge improvement. A great deal of money is being spent. It will take a matter of weeks, not months as when the Pewsey bridge was repaired.”
