The Jubilee Weekend drew to a close on Sunday, yesterday, with the Jubilee ‘Bake-Off’ in the Town Hall, judged by Devizes MP Danny Kruger, his children Gabriel, Scarlett and Malachi, and many of the residents of Marlborough who dropped in to the Town Hall to have a look and cast a vote.
The results:

1st Prize : Becky Ball

ShowStopper – freestyle baked cake with original decoration :
1st Prize : Daniela Greenway

The event was raising money for the Mayor’s Fund and prizes were kindly donated by The Kingsbury, Valentiner & Luisa’s Sugarcraft & Cake Shop.
A bit further to the West in Manton there was their street party, gazebos at the ready and put up just in case of the rain – it did arrive by the end – and the crowd was entertained by local Manton band, Skedddle who managed a (mainly) acoustic set under canvas.
Go a bit further West to Lockeridge, and their party was held in the playground of the Kennet Valley School (thanks to Sorrell Pitts and Tim Hitchens for the pics)
And a bit further along to the Kennet Valley Hall where, after the village picnics, inter-village football match and tug-of-war, all the residents of the three village parish came together for a group ‘Parish Photograph’, just as they did for the Silver Jubilee, thirty five years ago.
