A nil-nil draw – everyone is happy – or relatively! But a fantastic night in Ramsbury’s Memorial Hall where well over £5,000 (likely to increase – still counting) was raised for Action Through Enterprise to support schools and sports in Ghana. And for anyone wishing to go further and donate to buy a football, a school meal or a book for a child in rural Ghana – click here.
A wonderful example of people coming together through football and a shared passion for making positive change in the world.

Sarah Annable-Gardner MBE, Chief Executive, said:
“Despite the lack of goals, we all felt like winners. We celebrated our unique link between Ramsbury and Lawra and Nandom and enjoyed a taste of Ghana with jollof rice and even the weather! It was a night that was the best of our community – both local and global.”
Tim Eliot-Cohen, former manager director of Close Brothers Asset Management, has visited ATE’s work in Ghana twice, and sported his very own traditional smock at the event.
He said: “While my heart beats for England on the pitch, who could not admire this Ghanaian ream spirit and resolve. This resilience was evident wherever we looked whilst visiting Lawra with ATE in February. These amazing people face hardship with a smile and teaches us that sometimes it’s we who can learn from those with so little.”
Tim successfully bid for an auction prize, to sponsor an upcoming girls’ football competition in Upper West Ghana – it will be named “The Rambury Cup”. He held his own successful fundraiser for ATE last year, the Hilldrop Charity Shoot and Festival.
