Following the closure of the NHS River Kennet Dental Practice at the George Lane surgery last December, a new NHS dental service will be opening in Hughenden Yard in two months time.
After a tender process run by NHS England, the South Cliff Dental Group have been signed up to run the town’s NHS dental service in Hughenden Yard’s Unit 13 – behind WH Smith. The lease was acquired this week – builders will move in very soon – and the service will open on Monday, 13 May.
With headquarters in Crawley, the South Cliff Dental Group comprises eight practices providing general dental services (both NHS and private) to patients in West Sussex, East Sussex and Hampshire. They offer the whole range of dental treatments including implants, endodontics, periodontics and sedation. They have 32,816 registered patients.
Marlborough will be their ninth practice. It will have two dentists and be open Monday to Saturday 9am to 5pm – with late appointments available on Tuesdays till 8pm.
The CEO of the South Cliff Dental Group, Ashkan Pitchforth, told marlborough.news: “We put patients first and aim to look after our patients. They’ve contributed to the NHS and we like to enable them to use it and benefit from our NHS services.”
By the end of next week they will have a phone line with a Marlborough number that will be diverted to their Crawley headquarters – this number will be published on marlborough.news as soon as it available. This phone line will allow people to book appointments before the new dental surgery is open for business.
