Organised by town residents Luke Jackson and Sandra Bhatia, who wanted to bring music back to the town. Run as a community interest company, Marlborough Festival will build on the success of last year, with a continuing focus on music, entertainment for all and local food and drink producers.
“We wanted to continue the theme from last year, of showcasing the best of Marlborough, Wiltshire and the South West, while offering something that will accommodate everyone in the community” said Sandra. “We really want people to come along and join in, because then we can make next year’s even better.”
So lots happening over the Marlborough Festival Weekend, even a lone Spitfire from the RAF Memorial Flight will be swooping over the Town Hall down the High Street to mark the 80 years since VE Day on Saturday 21, at 4.46pm (if weather permitting) and again on Sunday 22 June at 11:35 (again, if weather permitting).
