On Sunday 17th December, Marlborough Community Choir performed a Christmas Concert and raised over £1K for Medical Aid Ukraine. The choir was joined by Ukrainian families staying in our local community who sang at the concert in their national dress.

The Choir sang various Christmas songs including a traditional Lapland reindeer calling song, hence the headgear in the photo. They were joined for Carol of the Bells, which originated from Ukraine, by Danyllo who sang a solo in Ukrainian.

Musical director, Emma Pooley, said “The concert was a lovely event, everyone enjoyed the music, the refreshments were excellent and we had lots of traditional Ukrainian cakes and biscuits to try, all of which were delicious. There was a wonderful sense of community, and we raised an amazing £1,045.00 for Medical Aid Ukraine.”
