MantonFest ’25 – the ‘Big One’ – on Saturday 28 June

The big party in the natural amphitheatre of the Preshute field that’s been the home of MantonFest for most of it’s sixteen years is almost here again. On Saturday 28 June a great, chilled and relaxed day out for all with plenty of excellent and popular music coming from the stage all the way through the day. The ‘Big One’ – the final Festival in the Marlborough Music Month.

This year it’s Fleetwood Mac, Abba, Cold Play and Slade. Well, not quite the original bands rather top tribute acts who deliver the great sounds with uncanny accuracy and feel, so to many, particularly when lying back, eyes closed and enjoying the sun (we hope!) in the MantonFest arena, the difference would be hard to spot.

So headlining will be Fleetwood Machine, supported by Abba Inferno, Cool Play and Slyde. Local blues favourites Barrelhouse will be on stage again, local they may be but reputation and following extending way beyond our shores and with a following (probably) greater than many of the tribute acts they are supporting. And their new album – ‘Open for Business‘ – is just on the point of release so much of their set will be devoted to what we will all be able to listen to soon.

It’s a chilled day out. For all the family. MantonFest is Marlborough’s biggest festival with well over one thousand of us packing in to the large Preshute field. And not just people, dogs as well. Bring your own gazebo to keep the sun off (max 3m x 3m, so large) and bring drink, food and yourselves. Or enjoy the food and drink offerings of the numerous and regular vendors who turn up every year to serve the MantonFest crowd. Stay overnight? If you want to stay in a campervan, no problem, a pitch is £20 so no worry about driving home late.

MantonFest ’25 is the sixteenth year it’s been held. Long(ish) term weather forecast for 28 June is good, at this point, most years it’s been a fine, sunny and dry day.

This year’s chosen charity is Youth Adventure Trust – a locally based charity championing outdoor adventure to inspire vulnerable young people in the community.
