
He is at the wheel every weekday bringing people of limited mobility to Marlborough’s day centres, in particular the Jubilee Centre in the High Street and those with disabilities to the New Road Centre.
And the minibus takes other groups on weekend outings in the area.
KCT is a charity which, until Easter, had a bus initially provided by Kennet District Council, then the subsequent Wiltshire Council, but since that provision ceased it has bought its own minibus.
And it needs to build up a fund to replace the minibus when the present vehicle is no longer reliable, as well as pay for regular servicing plus the cost of insurance and road tax.
Saturday’s event was sponsored by MRH Builders, Simon Jones Building and OTN Plumbing, with 24-7 providing their music for half their normal fee. It was also supported by a host of local businesses and private individuals who gave raffle prizes
