Tickets which can be bought singly or as a table include a glass of fizz and canapés – and the chance to take part in a draw with some stupendous prizes…more of which anon.
Dress, Foxtrot Vintage, Phase Eight, Luna Boutique and Viyella with Country Casuals, are joining forces to support this new event for the town’s calendar. Each of the shops will be showing about nine outfits.
The Town Mayor, Councillor Margaret Rose, will be opening the evening.
This will not be a catwalk show with professional models and the obligatory ‘front row’ of celebs. Rather it will hark back to earlier days with the models taking a ‘fashionable stroll’ around the tables where people will be sitting – drinking their fizz, eating their canapés and discussing the clothes that are on show. They will even get to feel the fabrics.
To balance things up a bit, Foxtrot Vintage are promising some retro men’s wear – shown off, of course, by male models.
The show is being staged by Annabel Czyva. She used to be a model, has run fashion shows and is now an image consultant with House of Colour in Swindon – advising women on the colours that best suit them.

The fashion show is to raise money for the Lions regular charitable causes – they do not generally give money to other charities, but give financial support to local people in need. However, from the funds raised by this fashion show they are giving a donation to the Merchant’s House Trust and to the Town Mayor’s charity of the year – The Brain Tumour Charity.
The canapés are being supplied by Sue Lampard who is the current President of the Marlborough Lions Club.
…as we were saying about those draw prizes…the list goes on: tea for two in Littlecote Great Hall, a spa day for two at Littlecote, champagne from Hamptons, a House of Colour scarf tying demonstration for two, and gift vouchers from Haine & Smith, Viyella, Country Casuals and Moda in Pelle.
The Lions have received welcome sponsorship for the event from Tesco Marlborough as main sponsors and from Earthline, Hamptons, Danisco, Marlborough Builders and Haine and Smith. And they have had help with assistance and tableware from Pino’s Restaurant and the Golf Club.
It will be less formal and more intimate without the catwalk. But it is quite clear that organising this major charity event has certainly been no cakewalk. As the posters say: it is all about fun, fizz and fabrics…and of course charity. You can still buy tickets – or even take a table.
