Easton Royal Village Hall and playground appeal helped by donation from NFU Mutual

A donation from NFU Mutual has helped Easton Royal Village Hall to continue their plans to make improvements to the hall and to put money towards replacing the children’s playground.

NFU Mutual Agents and their staff at the local Marlborough agency recently nominated local charity, Easton Royal Village Hall & Playground Fund, to receive a donation of £6,451 from a national £2million ‘Agency Giving Fund’ launched by NFU Mutual.

To ensure these donations reach all corners of the UK and are directed where they’re needed most, NFU Mutual’ s Agents, with over 300 offices nationwide, have been given the opportunity to nominate local charities to receive a share of the fund. The funds will be distributed over 16 weeks from the end of February, offering support as lockdown measures continue to impact our communities.

Marlborough’s NFU Mutual team recognised Easton Royal as an incredibly sociable village, the village hall is the centre of the community and represents an important social hub.

The Agent for the NFU Mutual in Marlborough, John Hardman, said: “COVID-19 continues to have a huge impact on everybody, including our customers and their local communities. Easton Royal Village Hall and its volunteers have been making a wonderful difference to the community during these challenging times. We are so pleased to be able to support such a worthwhile project in our community and to be investing in a charity project so consistent with NFU Mutual values.”

Emma Dickie from the Playground Committee, said: “Fundraising has been very difficult during 2020, some events were able to go ahead but others had to be cancelled due to the pandemic. This incredible amount of money donated by NFU Mutual is just fantastic. We’d like to thank them for supporting us and our wonderful rural village.”
