The weather smiled on Ramsbury Brewery as crowds turned up for the first Ramsbury Brewery Beer Festival on Saturday, 21 May. Plenty of people, enough to have a great day out and mainly local with families and young children during the day, evolving to an older group as the late afternoon gradually turned into evening.
Even the rack holding all the barrels of the wide range of beer on offer started to look a bit thin by early evening, giving a good indication as to the popularity of the day.
There was live music from Bob Bowles, Pulse and Steve DeGutis whilst Mr Muddle the magician kept the children fascinated and in awe by his magic tricks. Something, all the way through the day for the whole family.
Not just beer, lots of soft drinks and spirits as well, whatever customers wanted. And a choice of food, Ethel’s Pies (up from Hurstbourne Tarrant), Fish & Chips from Henry Farr, wood fired pizzas from Phoenix and Ramsbury doing their own burgers as well.
And if you hadn’t wanted to drive home there was also the option to camp, but that had to be booked in advance.
“Wow, hope that this becomes a regular day out” said Jake, while supping a pint of Skinner’s ‘Porthleven’ ale. “Still beer here” texted Mark – with a pic of the pints on a table – in the afternoon, having taken a taxi up to the Ramsbury Brewery with a group of friends from Marlborough.
The ‘Ramsbury Flyer’ was on hand to take customers to and from Marlborough, thus offering an alternative to driving there and back. A day enjoyed by all there, one that will hopefully become established as a regular event in the Marlborough area calendar.
