
This year the amount raised for the Marlborough area Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal was fractionally under £23,000, a record sum and a big increase on last year.
Organisers Craig Poxon and Clive Robbins were keen thank the donors, volunteers and businesses who made this possible. The military figures strongly for both, with Clive having served in the army for more than thirty years.
Craig and Clive took over the organisation of the appeal this year, working with the thirty two volunteers who gave up a total of one hundred and forty six hours to attend the stands at Waitrose and Tesco, whom they want to thank very much for their support. As they do the twenty one businesses, sports clubs and schools who also collected on behalf of this year’s Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal in the Marlborough area to make this a record year.
