This follows a huge landmark achievement for the band with the third place in September’s British Open Brass Band championship, the finest result for the Band in any ‘major’ competition. The next appearance for the Aldbourne Band will be at the Royal Albert Hall for the National Brass Band Championships, where we they be representing the West of England as their 2022 champions.
Band Chairman, Shaun Mundy commented: “The band continues to go from strength to strength. 2022 has been the most successful year ever for the band and now we are excited to prepare our performance of “Hyperlink” by Peter Graham for our appearance at the Royal Albert Hall in October. This time, we have the excellent Dutch conductor to direct us – Erik Janssen. I would publicly like to thank everyone who has supported the band – partners, the village of Aldbourne, the Friends of Aldbourne who fundraise for us, our conductors and of course, the musicians of the band”.
