The two Marlborough College students Monty Eayrs and Jago Reeves finished the 4-day, 125-mile Devizes to Westminster International Canoe Race in an elapsed time of 23 hours 46 minutes and 37 seconds. The race started on Good Friday.
They were raising money for the children’s charity Starlight.
The pair of kayakers were placed 43 out of 59 finishers in the Junior Doubles section. The winners of section were from the Fowey River Canoe Club and finished in an elapsed time of 16 hours 20 minutes and 16 seconds.
Eayrs and Reeves were beaten home by several other Marlborough College pairs. The top Marlborough College pair took tenth place in the section.
