On Friday 14th August 2026, from 5pm, local artists Becky Borthwick and Heidi Nardoni will officially be opening their exhibition of inspiring, natural artistry in the Marlborough Kingsbury Street shop, Peacock & Lily.
Peacock & Lily is owned by Carly Johnson and is an independent family run business offering thoughtfully curated items to enhance your home. Carly Johnson said, “Peacock and Lily focuses on elegance, creativity and quality.”
The idea for Twilight an evening of srt and shopping came together when Carly met artists, Becky and Heidi. Carly commented, “When I met Becky & Heidi I knew straight away that we could bring to life something special together. We wanted to create an enchanted immersive experience for people to explore their art, surrounded by a delightful shopping experience that inspires your imagination. ‘Twilight’ an enchanted gathering was born.”
Becky draws inspiration for her work from her experience of the world around her. Through her profession as an equine therapist she translates the physical and sensory feeling from the horses into her creative art. Each line, contour and texture is carefully felt and placed with meaning. Working with fabric, paper, and stitching, she is able to build layers upon layers intuitively to create evocative and enchanting work. “My art is rooted in the changing landscape around me, the ebb and flow of the seasons, each with its own beauty…capturing the essence and stunning beauty of Wiltshire with its rolling down, vales,trees and ancient places” Becky Borthwick
Also from Wiltshire and painting in oils, Heidi Nardoni works from memory, life and reference to explore the theme of home and belonging within the landscape. Her compositions are carefully constructed to embody that connecting space, inviting the viewer into an experience of shared presence and interaction with the natural world. Alongside her artistic practice, Heidi is a college lecturer in Art & Design and private tutor specialising in art portfolio and entrance exam preparations.
The exhibition runs until Sunday 16th August, with opening night on the Friday allowing guests the opportunity to meet and speak to both artists. Drinks and nibbles kindly provided by Coco & Roses.
