The Pewsey Support Group for the charity Hope and Homes for Children released the following statement today, October 4 :
“It is with great regret that, in view of the continued uncertainty regarding the spread of the coronavirus, we have decided not to hold our popular fundraising Carol Concert in Marlborough College Chapel this year.
The charity was the creation of two extraordinary individuals who believed that every child had the right to grow up in a loving family.
Today, the organisation that Mark and Caroline Cook started at their kitchen table in Wiltshire twenty-seven years ago, is at the forefront of a strong worldwide movement to eliminate the institutional care of children. Evidence is growing of the massive strain the pandemic had put on the services of the charity and on vulnerable families across the globe. The continuation of the work of Hope and Homes for Children is more vital now than ever.
If you feel able to donate the amount of £10 that you would have perhaps paid for a ticket to the Carol Concert, please click here to donate.
We have booked the Chapel for Sunday 18th December 2022 when we can promise you a wonderful Christmas occasion.”
