Changes are on the way for the proposed multi-million development of a 64-bed “care and dementia” home and 28 assisted living spaces for the former Wiltshire Council depot site in Salisbury Road, Marlborough.
This follows issues raised by the planning committee of Marlborough Town Council over the concentration of homes for the elderly in the town but, in particular the issue of car parking on the site and the treatment of existing trees.
Councillor Mervyn Hall, new chairman of the planning committee, announced on Monday that the developers have revised their proposals for the project.
“We understand the developers have taken on board the comments made by the Town Council about parking and also the trees on the site,” he told councillors.
The planning application may now come back to the council for reappraisal.
