Great Bedwyn Parish Council and the village’s Flood Group have arranged an open meeting so Claire Perry MP can hear first-hand about the recent floods.
Mrs Perry has written a letter to ministers at the Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs in support of the Flood Group’s bid for £500,000 to upgrade drainage and prevent run-off from the fields above the village.
The flooding of raw sewage principally affects The Knapp and Mrs Perry has previously been in touch with Thames Water who are responsible for the sewers. Work carried out in recent months has proved insufficient to prevent further sewage flooding.
The open meeting will be on Saturday, 25 January at 9.00 am in Great Bedwyn village hall.
