David returned to education teaching at Pewsey Vale School where he taught for 21 years. During this time he set up a livestock unit & wildlife area. Educational cruises & visits to the Gambia were also part of his time there. He ran a popular fishing club taking pupils to various fishing areas at the weekends.
Later he joined St John’s School as a supply teacher before retiring.
Alongside teaching David ran a successful Photographic business with his wife Dianne, photographing many weddings in the area as well as portraiture & commercial work.
Books that included his photographs were also produced…Marlborough in Colour……Marlborough People and a brilliant educational resource “Isatou, Chloe and You” exploring the lives in David’s photographs of Isatou in Gunjur, The Gambia and Chloe Stokes in Marlborough, a resource that was used in schools in Wiltshire and nationally and won acclaim in the Times Educational Supplement.
There were a number of organisations that David belonged to over the years namely Round Table, Rotary, 41 Club, Brandt Group, Marlborough Gardening Association, Marlborough Bowls Club & U3A in Kennet which included Bowls, Wine Appreciation, Thursday Walking Group, Theatre, Art & Art History & Table Tennis. He had been on the committee for Marlborough Christmas Lights & Avebury Rocks. The later raising money for the Prospect Hospice.
He was a passionate fisherman & very keen gardener until ill health curtailed these activities.
He will be greatly missed by family & friends.
