The burgeoning and fruitful partnership between St John’s Academy and Marlborough Rugby grew even stronger on Friday 6 May 2022 with the award of rugby hoodies to students at the school. The hoodies have been designed to celebrate the link between the two organisations and have been funded by the generosity of a number of Marlborough Rugby sponsors including Compeed, Chilvester Financial and Jones Robinson.
At a special lunchtime ceremony, the hoodies were presented by Ian Tucker, Head of St John’s, and Charlie Paul, Assistant Vice Principal and also a school rugby coach, to male and female captains from each year group at the school watched on by Marlborough Rugby volunteer coaches.
The hoodies are being awarded to all students who have committed to the Marlborough Rugby-run after school rugby club within a school year.
Over 120 hoodies will be distributed to eligible students in the coming week. Mr Tucker congratulated the students on their commitment to rugby and highlighted how important the sport was to the school.
