Amber Carling and Jo McEvoy, from Great Bedwyn, are excited to have opened Worn Preloved Clothing in Old Hughenden Yard, Marlborough, opposite the Sweet Shop. The shop sells a mixture of designer, High Street and vintage clothes and accessories with a mixture of special occasion and everyday outfits. The shop combines Amber and Jo’s passions – fashion and sustainability.

Amber and Jo told Marlborough.news, “Our aim is to offer a beautifully curated collection which appeals to all budgets, and makes shopping second hand easy and fun. We love that no two days in the shop are the same and we are able to offer such a range of brands.
We source our clothes through a combination of our own buying and on behalf of private clients via a commission basis. This enables us to sell from luxury designers, contemporary brands and the best of the High Street, as well as some gorgeous vintage pieces. Prices start at around £10-15 and rarely exceed £100 for designer wear.”
For the last 4 years Amber and Jo have run very successful Pop Up shops in and around the local area, including a Pop Up at The Parade Cinema, sponsoring the film “Fashion Re-imagined.” They finally decided it was time to take the plunge and open permanent premises. The shop caters for a wide age range from teenagers to women in their 70’s or 80’s.
They commented, “We have had so much lovely support from so many people over the last week who are thrilled that there is now a shop like this in Marlborough. Like us, many people are now seeing the benefits of shopping second hand. Ultimately, our goal and business ethos is to help reduce textile waste by giving clothes a new home piece by piece. There is enough clothing on the planet to cloth the next 6 generations, we just need to put it out there. As women we often feel the need to express ourselves with what we wear, and it can make a real difference to our confidence, and this is OK, we just need to do it in a way that doesn’t cost the earth.”
Worn Preloved Clothing is at 3 Old Hughendon Yard, Marlborough and is open Monday to Saturday from 10 am to 4.30 pm – @wornprelovedclothing –wornprelovedclothing@gmail.com
