The Food Gallery and The White Horse Bookshop, two of the best-know names on the High Street announced that they will be closing with immediate effect.
“As events have gathered momentum it is now by closing that we serve you, and ourselves, best” was message sent out by The White Horse Bookshop manager, Angus MacLennan.
Bob Holman, proprietor of The Food Gallery had announced that they were intending to keep going on a take-away basis but announced that reluctantly they have “decided to temporarily close our family business”.
Bob explained further: “We’re all living in very strange times. We all have to adapt to it, as and when a change happens. Our temporary closing is just one part of this. It’s happening all over the country.
And in our opinion, we MUST do our bit in trying to reduce the number of visits, out of our homes, to our shop. We really hope you understand our decision.”
