Or so we are now being informed by Wiltshire Council’s chosen system to provide roadworks, disruptions and general transport information – one.network. Salisbury Road seems to be closed or restricted nowadays almost more than it’s open and clear. This was announced at last night’s meeting of the Marlborough Town Council Planning Committee by Chair Cllr Mervyn Hall.

What is the closure for? See the yellow highlight on the adjacent pic, it’s for ‘Bobcat patching works’. The other highlight shows that it’s due to take place between 7pm and midnight (23:59 to be precise) and the road closure will be ‘All the time’.
Advice for any shopper on Thursday evening will be to avoid Tesco, or anywhere up on the Business Park, unless you live either in Marleberg Grange, Cadley or anywhere further South and use the A346 to get in to Marlborough. For any living in those areas, just avoid Marlborough on Thursday evening. The ‘official’ diversion in to town is via Hungerford…….
