
Roger Hagerty, treasurer of KCT added, “We are a charitable organisation and we survive on charitable donations. What St. John’s Year 7 are doing is absolutely fantastic.”

The money was raised in a variety of ways. A non-uniform day was held and Year 7 ran a variety of stalls in the school’s atrium to tempt other students to part with their money. There were many different games - guess the sweets in a jar, a ping pong cone game, the wheel of fortune, raffles, tombola and most difficult of all when you are twelve years old – a sponsored silence.
Kennet Community Transport assists people who cannot access private or public transport for any reason. For example, taking sick people to healthcare, older and disabled people to shops and providing transport for a wide range of clubs, community organisations and care homes.
Volunteer relief drivers are required for the mini-bus, training will be given. More volunteers are also needed to serve on the committee who meet once every six weeks. If you could help please phone : 01672 540698.
