A fantastic response to the recent story on marlborough.news led to a supporter setting up a CrowdFunding page on Just Giving to raise funds for the Marlborough scrubs team.
“We’ve had a fantastic response in all ways – donations of money, of material and volunteers to sew, fetch and carry and setting up the Just Giving page.” said team member, Jo Ripley.
Already, at the time of writing the target of £1,000 was over three-quarters achieved, and whilst no-one is expecting a repeat of Capt. Tom’s recent amazing achievement that caught the mood of the whole country, the Marlborough scrubs team may well be providing much needed scrubs to a far wider audience than originally envisaged.
The activity isn’t just in The College laundry as many team members are working hard from home. “After today at the Laundry cutting material and more patterns I’ve been able to contact our volunteer sewers-from-home to say: “ready to go, ready to sew” – and sorting the logistics of that.” said Jo.
“The first batch have already been gratefully received by a couple of General Practices” said Jo, and “very soon, we’ll be getting Marlborough-made cotton scrubs to several of our Care Homes and to Cotswold Ward at Savernake Hospital.” she added.
