St John’s Academy Principal, Mr Ian Tucker, has today announced to staff and parents that he will be leaving St John’s at the end of the academic year to take up the role of Chief Executive Officer of the Magna Learning Partnership in Salisbury.
Ian Tucker has been Principal of St John’s for almost five years. He led the school through the Covid-19 crisis and oversaw the planning and construction of the new sports hall which was completed in 2022.
In his letter to parents he said “I am going to be extremely sad to leave a school which has made the most indelible mark on me. The staff and students at St John’s are quite honestly the most incredible and unique people and the experiences and friendships I have made here will never be forgotten”.
St John’s Marlborough is an Excalibur Academies Trust School. Excalibur CEO Nicky Edmondson has expressed her gratitude and appreciation for the wonderful job Ian Tucker has done and announced that the search for a new Principal is already underway with interviews planned before Easter. She said, “I am confident that this outstanding school will attract many high-quality applicants.”
The Chair of Magna Learning Partnership Neil Owen said, “The Trust Board are delighted to be appointing Ian to the role of CEO. Ian is a highly respected executive leader and is well known in the Wiltshire area. His management style, values and ambition for improving the educational landscape is a perfect fit for MLP.”
